Housing Allocations and Homelessness
The Ombudsman was been concerned to find during investigations that a significant number of county and county borough councils were yet to adopt housing allocations policies which fully comply with the law and, in particular, the Homelessness Act 2002. He was also been concerned about the manner in which homelessness applications are dealt with. He, therefore, decided to produce the report below, which is the first special report to be issued by an Ombudsman in Wales.
